Troop 179 is one of the best troop in Cypress
We meet in the St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church every Monday evening from 7:00 until 8:30 pm. Troop 179 is in the Big Cypress District of the Sam Houston Area Council. The mission statement of our Council is “Leading Youth to Lifelong Values, Service, and Achievement.” Unit” by Boy Scouts of America. Our objectives in Scouting are to foster citizenship, build character and help Scouts develop physically, mentally and morally. We strive to accomplish these objectives through an outdoor program that operates according to the Patrol method with an emphasis on servant leadership.
If you are new to scouting, Boy Scouting works toward three aims:
- Character Development, including growth in moral strength and character, values, and outlook on life
- Citizenship Training, including knowledge of government & service to society
- Personal Fitness, including development of physical, mental and emotional attributes
